Caroline
Caroline was the 83rd stranger in my project. She was enjoying a coffee at Intellegensia in Venice, CA. I first noticed her shoes which looked like men’s oxfords. Her style was very put together. She was very pleasant and looked totally comfortable in front of the camera. I waited for the wind to calm down a little but I wanted some of her hair to have some movement.
Caitlyn
I was visiting some friends in San Diego and wanted to walk around a bit and get some portraits for my 100 strangers project. I walked around the Gaslamp district for about 2 hours and got 4 photos, Caitlyn was one of them. I noticed she was very fashionably dressed. She was having photos of her jewelry taken but a man with a dslr camera. It turned out that the man was her husband and that they were working on her blog http://www.alittledashofdarling.com
Her husband and she were very understanding of the project and she was obviously comfortable in front of the camera. In addition to running her blog, she attends law school. I’ve always been fascinated by people who have multiple talents as I am trying to hone my photography skills while practicing dentistry.
Cynthia
Cynthia’s hair was the obvious draw for me to take this photo. She was waiting for a coffee in a cafe in downtown Los Angeles. She was a little pressed for time but she walked outside and let me take a few photos. This was one of the times where I didn’t want to take no for an answer and I’m glad I pushed it a little with her for the shot.
Stephanie
Stephanie was the 51st stranger I took a photo of for my project. I remember we had a pleasant conversation about Abbot Kinney blvd and how she works on the street. The photo doesn’t show how friendly she was. If I took the photo now I would have taken a few more and maybe loosened her up more so that her expression wasn’t as hostile looking.
Kristen
Kristen was the 63rd stranger in my project. I was walking taking photos with my film camera and spotted her through a window. The green leaves were framing her face and I took a couple of photos. She turned her head and saw me. I went inside the store and told her about the 100 strangers project and if she would participate. She obliged. She is originally from Australia and works for a company that expanded to the states.
Bri
Bri was the 64th stranger in my project. I spotted her as she was getting into a car but thought her hat and dark clothing would make an interesting photo. I tapped on her window and asked if I could take a few photos of her. She said yes and was very enthused about the project. She didn’t need any coaching because she stated she was a model. She was very patient about the process and let me take a few photos with my film camera.
